Chemex Ten Cup Glass Coffee Maker with Glass Handle - 10 Cup Coffee Maker
From Chemex

 Product Description

Known as a pristine coffeemaker, Chemex employs all of the chemically correct methods for brewing. Its hourglass shaped flask is made entirely of glass, a chemically inert material that does not absorb odors or chemical residues. The Chemex has no moving parts and will work forever, unless it is dropped or in some other way demolished. Chemex filters are made of the highest quality filter paper. Please note: All of the coffeemakers are measured using 5 oz. as 1 cup. This Chemex coffeemaker has a sturdy glass handle. The Chemex Coffeemaker was invented over 60 years ago by German chemist and artist, Dr. Peter Schlumbohm. The simplicity of the Chemex coffeemaker's elegant hourglass shape has been honored for its design by many prestigious museums, including the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Its functional capabilities are also world-renowned. The Chemex uses a thick paper filter that removes many of the impurities that electric makers allow to pass through, making the coffee much more pure and flavorful. It also brews directly into the serving container for simple decanting and cleaning.

The most helpful favorable review

My family used the chemex system for brewing coffee. So I am very comfortable and familiar with using it. In today's hurry-up world, some people would not want to be bothered boiling the water, and slowly pouring it into the chemex glass coffee maker. When our power goes out, we have a gas stove, so we can still brew wonderful coffee, and that is a great thing to be able to do to warm-up while waiting for the power to come back on, here up in the mountains!
